Senior Session Quick Do's & Don'ts Checklist Before Your Shoot

Green Check markDO:

  • DO try on your outfits all the way (shoes + undergarments included). If it pinches, rides up or makes you mad - it's not the one.
  • DO steam/iron everything and hang it up. Wrinkles love cameras; Cameras love wrinkles.
  • DO bring 2-3 vibes
    • 1 casual, 1 dressy, 1 personality (sports/club/boots/hat/jacket/whatever screams "YOU"). If you are unsure about a shirt, shoes, hat, etc., bring it just in case.
  • DO hydrate + sleep (dry skin shows up fast)
  • DO pack a mini "save my life" kit:
    • Brush,/comb, hair ties, chapstick, blotting sheets/powder, deodorant, link roller, safety pins
    • Bug spray, because mosquitoes are vicious creatures. *I have a handy pack of essentials in my bag in case you forget something.
  • DO clean nails. Hands are in a lot more photos than people realize.
  • DO eat something small before you come. Hangry faces are real.
  • DO arrive 10 minutes early so we start relaxed, not rushed.
  • DO trust me. You don't need to know how to pose - that's literally my job.

Red XDON'T

  • DON'T try new skincare 48-72 hours before (surprise reactions are not invited)
  • DON'T do a last-minute spray tan unless you already know it photographs well on you.
  • DON'T go out and get sunburned. If you sunbathe, make sure you can't see tan lines.
  • DON'T wear tight socks/bras/elastic right before your photoshoot (those lines show up and they are not cute).
  • DON'T wear neon, tiny or busy patterns, or heavy logos (we want the focus on your face, not your shirt).
  • DON'T go heavy on hair oils/products. The sunlight will snitch.
  • DON'T forget comfy shoes for walking between spots. Bring the cute ones for photos.
